For me, the café-restaurant tucked away on one side of the Maison de Victor Hugo garden is a social place to meet up, with an emphasis on tradition, design, and seasonality - all values close to my heart.

Enter a haven of tranquillity: the garden, its fountain, the architecture, works by artist duo Lamarche-Ovize relating to Victor Hugo, and Non Sans Raison tableware.... Enjoy a delicious platter or salad, patisserie or Bundt cake, or just relax with a cup of tea or coffee! Come for brunch, lunch or afternoon snack; take a moment out of your busy day; for an aperitif on the terrace, or a chic reception that’s a little bit different; live your best moments imbued with the craftsmanship, tradition and ways of the Maison. Like a trip to Guernsey, now part of the world of Victor Hugo, “Café Mulot” now rhymes with ... Hugo!

You are warmly invited to the Rendez-vous du Café Mulot! Our varied programme of events offers something for everyone: coffee and cake around a work by Victor Hugo with a talk by Mr Gérard Audinet, Director of the Maisons de Victor Hugo; Sunday Music for a weekend lunch at the Café Mulot; or our literary café, for some time away from the hustle and bustle, to soothe the mind and body...!

For after-work get-togethers, nights out with family and friends, or a special event... From a gourmet night in the museum to a tour with coffee & cake, we can accommodate your requirements. We can cater for up to 100 people seated, or up to 200 people standing.
