Mental disability

The museum's staff is trained to welcome people with mental and psychological disabilities. The museum has held the Tourism and Handicap Label for welcoming people with mental impairment since 2012.

The FALC (easy-to-read and understand) booklet offers an adapted tour of the rooms, covering Victor Hugo's youth, family life, return from exile, and passion for interior design. The booklet was made possible with the support of Unapei, the leading French federation of associations representing and defending the interests of mentally handicapped people and their families, and the Papillons Blancs association. Young adults with disabilities contributed to its creation right up to the testing phase.

It can be downloaded from the museum's website. A member of the museum staff has also been especially trained in mental disabilities in order to welcome and guide visitors.
